Introducing the Mission North Cookbook

|

In such a challenging year, it’s always a treat to be the bearer of a piece of good news. I’m excited to share one that’s been a balm for all of us at Mission North these last few months: Herbs Have Power: The Mission North Cookbook

This wasn’t originally part of our 2020 plan, but we expect it to be an annual tradition. Our team shares two loves: a great story and a great meal.

Shortly before shelter in place orders went into effect in March, I had dinner with our Portland team. We broke bread, shared stories about our favorite dishes and considered the idea of a company cookbook. Days later, we found ourselves in a global pandemic leaving us physically disconnected and anxious about the future. We were all seeking connection and desperate for experiences we could share as a team. It was clear we needed to bring this cookbook to life.

What followed was an outpouring of family stories, photos of each other’s recipes as we tested and tasted more than two dozen, and hours of designing and refining. We’re especially thankful for the work of our talented designer Yuliya, our brilliant editor James and our former colleague Rhiannon, who took this on as a personal passion project.

I’m thrilled to share the final product with you. I hope it brings a smile, a memory of your own favorite family recipe and perhaps a new appetizer or dessert into your regular rotation!
