ABOUT

Future of Work

Industry and workplace awards program

CHALLENGE:

Between 2019 and 2021, Workato almost quadrupled its global employee headcount. As the company grew exponentially, their exemplary workplace culture remained consistent and uniquely committed to employee wellbeing and support for their team of 650+ around the globe. As the pandemic took hold in 2020 and Workato continued to grow in size, Mission North and Workato partnered to develop a highly-successful award program dedicated to showcasing Workato’s industry leadership and world-class employee experience.

STRATEGY:

Mission North partnered with Workato to design a strategic and always-on award submission cadence throughout 2021 and 2022. Together, Mission North and Workato submitted over 25 top industry awards across influential technology and workplace publications, focused on illuminating Workato’s product innovation, enterprise automation category leadership, and employer brand. To build on award-placement momentum, Mission North developed and executed proactive media campaigns timed with top-tier award list recognition, to highlight executive expertise and Workato’s industry leadership beyond high-level award write-ups.

IMPACT:

In 2021 and 2022, Workato was recognized as a winner, finalist and/or semi-finalist by over 12 top IT, technology and workplace awards, which resulted in recognition by top-tier national outlets and professional organizations including Quartz (x2), CNBC (x2), Forbes (x2), Deloitte, Appealie, and Built In.

These placements resulted in true business and industry impact, including:

  • A feature story and newsletter highlight in Quartz, on how Workato utilizes their own automation technology to make remote work frictionless for their very own employees and made quick product development pivots during the pandemic to support customers in bringing employees back to offices safely and seamlessly
  • Tier-1 coverage of the 2021 Best Workplaces for Remote Workers recognition from Quartz in Inc, Yahoo!, and New York Times Dealbook
  • Recognition on some of the industry’s most prestigious award lists, such as Forbes’ Cloud 100, two years in a row
  • Placement on CNBC’s Disruptor 50 award list led to a successful submission and placement on CNBC’s Top Startups for Enterprise list
  • Invite-only participation in an expert panel and virtual event with Quartz on the topic of creating exemplary workplaces for a distributed employee base, alongside industry peers including the CEO of Flatfile, CEO of Doist, and VP of Talent at Noom
